Enriching the Valley

The Old School Enrichment Council (OSEC) was formed in 2013 by a group of community-minded volunteers, with a focus on meeting the overwhelming need to provide a central location for multi-generational interaction, community gathering, recreation, services and resources that are not currently available locally to regional residents. In 2014 the current building was purchased. Formerly the Wilmington High School, then Twin Valley High School parts of this building date back 120+ years.

VISION STATEMENT

The Old School Enrichment Councils’ (OSEC) vision is to inspire enrichment, wellness, social, and economic opportunities in the Deerfield Valley.

MISSION STATEMENT

The OSEC community center will realize its vision by repurposing and refurbishing the vacant Twin Valley High School in order to provide:

* A multi-purpose facility that will focus on economic outreach designed to attract providers of health, wellness, adult activities, and child care services

* A minimum of 10 to 25 jobs, most of which are above minimum wage

* A safe and healthy environment for creative, social, educational, athletic and quality of life activities

* Space for wide array of programs that support, teach and present the arts including, but not limited to, music, theater, dance, creative writing and visual arts.

* Space for business incubator services to speed up the growth and success of startups and early stage companies
